They died after saving 8 patients - AMRI hospital Fire Accident

The Hindu : States / Kerala : They died after saving 8 patients

Two Nurse from kottayam, had died after saving 8 female patients from their ward, in AMRI Hospital, Kolkata. We all must stand up and salute this brave hearts P.K. Vineetha and Remya Rajan. The parents of this two nurses must be proud to be their parents.

From the article published in The Hindu According to the hospital authorities, both worked in the female general ward. “There were nine patients in the ward and they could save eight of them. Both the girls had gone up to save the ninth patient, who had suffered a fracture, but succumbed to smoke and heat. Only one patient died in the ward,” said Deputy Nursing Superintendent Sumini over telephone.

When we talk about the two nurses brave act. There is also coward act took place in the hospital a quote from NDTV portal.
Families of the victims and the government accuse the privately-owned and posh hospital of ignoring basic fire safety laws; they also say that after the fire began, doctors and staff members abandoned patients, many of who were immobile

Government otherside is also responsible for this incident, hospital was in a narrow and congested street. Hospital was centralised Air condition, fully wrapped with glasses, so the smoke has no way to go out of the building. Is there any norms for hospital functioning.

Who run the government both ruling and opposition party must awake after this inicident, In india this is not the one incident. In tamilnadu 2004 a same incident took place in a school
Eighty-three children aged between eight and ten years were on Friday charred to death, 20 of them beyond recognition, while over 27 others received serious burns when a major fire raged through their school in this town of Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur district.
In other incident in a marriage hall, trichy Forty-nine persons were killed and about 50 injured in a devastating fire during a wedding at a marriage hall at Srirangam in Tiruchi district of Tamil Nadu. Among the dead were the bridegroom, 20 women and four children.

I request people who run organisation and government, Please awake, Please give value to human life, Please frame norms to places where people gather like shopping mall, marriage hall, hospital, schools etc. and adhere to the same, why should we lose life of two young nurse who value the service above their life, if they were alive how many of them would benefited by them. As india grows we need people with service minded. And the business people must start value human lives, please don't value your business return over safety norms. please adhere to all safety norms.

I pray god to give peace to the soul who had given there life for saving others.

Chennai - Hyderabad To-and-Fro

11.11.11. Drupal Camp Deccan Event on Drupal, We from Unimity a Drupal Development company participated and presented about Implementing High Performance Drupal Sites.

On 10th November 2011, I with my colleague Kumar got an Auto from our office, first shock to me as auto driver charged Rupees 150/- for traveling a 8 km distance from Kasi Arcade T.Nagar to Central Railway Station, he had given me many reasons like rise of petrol price, so the rise of rent to the auto etc. but not convinced with his justification. But the same followed with other auto's also, so I boarded the same auto.
We reached the Central Railway station at 16.15 there we accompanied with one more colleague Mr. Udhaya Kumar, we boarded the train, with us in compartment there is old couple and a business man traveled to Hyderabad, Sharply at 16.45 the train started. While traveling Kumar has got Tamil magazine and he was started reading the book. Myself and udhaya kumar had discussion about many things happened around us.

Interestingly there where a few school students from Pollachi on there way to Hyderabad, they might be 11 or 12 standard students, they all had Hi-fi gadgets with them like mobile, netbooks, etc. they keep on charging their gadgets and playing with them. Because of the gadgets available today, our distance between the nature and us are growing larger.

The old man (not asked his name) traveled with us slowly started interacting with us, He came back from US last week from his son's house, now he is traveling with us to Hyderabad to attend a marriage. He narrated about US. A few thing he told us about a) Old people are working to earn money for their need, b) teachers where teaching the student to complain police if the parents harassed them. c) About maintenance of street, city etc. d) About police, government with out corruption e) Base Ball he had watched, where all the viewers followed pink color dress code. f) importance of customer value, if you return a product after a month for a simple reason as it doesn't satisfy, they simply returned the money. And he same compared all these things with our country where we only value to money.

And a old women in the same compartment, guided us to where to get down and how to bargain with auto drivers, where to book hotels etc. Very nice it is, and I thank and appreciate her generosity.
We arrived at Secundarabad railway station at 5.25 in the morning, we catch a auto and went to Paradise circle booked a hotel room for refreshing. After finishing breakfast, we continued our journey to IIIT, Gochibowli, Hyderabad by a auto, we were surprised that auto driver charged only 250/- for traveling more than 20 kms. Where in Chennai for 8 kms we charged 150 rupees ( whom we should blame?).
The day fully was very interesting. I was excited to meet Mr. Dries Co- founder, Acquia and Project lead of Drupal, very interesting speech given by him at the venue. ( I will write a separate blog about the event Drupal Camp Deccan ).

For returning, Actually I was booked a bus through redbus.in at 20.45, but the bus was canceled by the travels, I have to book other availability bus at 22.45, a representative from redbus.in called me and reported about the cancellation and asked to book bus at 22.45. In the conversation she not told me one important thing that this bus is traveling to Chennai through Tirupati, which is not straight, but she told me about the bus is charging 300 rupees extra which I have to pay to bus at the time of boarding.( see How our business people value their money).

In the mean time we visited the Paradise Hotel and Bakery. I purchased a biscuit box cost Rs. 100/- Which is very nice. I recommend to all.

I boarded the Bus in the night 22.45. Actually the night went peacefully In early morning many time A/c was switched off, we not cared more as it is cold inside and outside of bus. But the bus after reached Tirupati we came to know that bus dynamo(a unit supports power generation) is not working. Travel agent had said us that bus cannot travel here after and said arranging a alternate bus. We were shocked when we see the bus agent came with a APSRTC Local bus. Many were got very angry and started shouting, after a long heated conversation, the agent agreed to arrange a cab. After one hour they came back with the cab, we boarded the cab and reached the Chennai at 14.30. So the total traveling time is 15.30 hours, because of this I have to cancel my other commitments on the same day. (See, How the business people value customer in India, after a shouting and heated conversation only they arranged us proper transportation. Where as in US after using a product if we return back because of not satisfaction they will return back the money).

Through out this travel experience, What is very clear is India has very nice people generally, but when it comes to business it is upside down. We are not having customer friendly environment. Which is very important aspect we need to look and change to become Super power in 2020.

In Unimity

Our Unimity is formed on 1st August 2010, We left the Netlink Technologies and joined the new company, I was very proud to be a part of J.Krishnan (M.D.) team for past five years.

On August 11, 2006 I joined Netlink as programmer, Kanniyappan one of my uncle friend has introduced me to netlink, I have given many test in action script, then after a week gap, Netlink given me an opportunity to join there software team.

My first task is very big challenging, i have to rotate a cube 360 degree drawn through Action script. I had put my full effort and completed the task. From then interestingly i had been assigned many challenging assignment through out my career in netlink and unimity. I had been given opportunity to explore new framework (which i never heard before joining) Drupal. Because of the opportunity provided to me, I'm able to demonstrate my skills in Action script, HTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, JQuery, Javascript and Drupal. I had played many roles in netlink started as Scripter, then flash designer, HTML CSS developer, Drupal developer, Drupal themer, HTML lead and at last now leading a technical team for Drupal development.

Through out my career in Netlink and Unimity J.Krishnan and Rajeev had motivated supported lot. They were not our boss, they are our mentor.

I have been admired by J.K. uniqueness on handling issues, supporting and running the business.
For past three years i was closely interacting with Rajeev.  He was very nice person, particularly when I was in tough position, he supported me very much, he had mentored and shaped my professional and personal skills. He will easily solve problems which i think as very big one.

One big thing in Unimity is if you have a new idea, you will be given a chance to implement it, and for the same you will be appreciated. If you want to change any thing, you will be allowed to do it. You can speak about anything to our immediate bosses.

I had been worked with many project managers, Kanniyappan, Sindhu, Anandhan, Gomathi, Manoj and Shyamala each one has there own uniqueness to admire. Kanniyappan and Anandhan had left the company, still others are continuing as my colleague.

I had been part of many prestigious projects in Unimity like UNIFI, Deccan Chronicle and Asianage. And in Netlink Bravura, Papyrusclub Design Studio, Mydigitalfc etc.

I had chance to work with some 60 developers in Netlink and Unimity. Many was now in BIG MNC's like wipro, HCL, Capegemini, Photon etc.. I enjoyed working with all of them in our company.

I had learned many things from each one of them i mentioned above, My life, attitude, communication changed a lot from past five years and each one had contributed for the change. I want to thank all of them i mentioned above who are directly or indirectly part of my growth. When there is positive, negative will also be there. But when we look only positive our life will be easy. So I will forget all negativeness in Unimity and will take only the positive things with me.

Yesterday we had celebrated our first Anniversary.   I expect the anniversary celebration with many awards and achievement will be celebrated on each coming years. And the company will grow as multi core Rupees valued company.

My Bike with me for past five years

I bought this bike on October 2006 from Southern Auto Center, Nandanam, Chennai. I loved very much the color of the bike which is very rare colour used in bikes. The Bike is 125 CC with self starter, spokes wheel and drum brakes. The pickup, brake, seating posture,  suspension are very good.

In this bike i have traveled till now 40,000 km., I have traveled to my village kanthadu which is 120 km from my house. And also i have travelled to Pondycherry which is 40 Km from my village.

This was very convenient to travel inside the city with my family. The bike has given 55 K.m. mileage when i bought, then it reduced to 45 now.

Two years back the problem with engine arise. There is a manufacturing fault which leads to white smoke from engine, initail stage i'm not bothered. Which cost me Rs 10,000 / - to repair it. Then again this year the problem arise again.

So at last I decided to sell my bike. When i purchase i made some inquires about this bike, every one has given good remark, but  after i bought the bike, then all started telling me that it was failure model.

Now I sold this for Rs. 15000/- I bought it for Rs. 48000 /-. I was very sad to sell this bike. If the bike engine was in good condition i would not sold this bike for next 10 years.

Now I opted Honda's CB Shine same 125 CC, Now the bike cost Rs. 61000/- on road with all fittings.
Will write about new bike next week.

Our Garden

Our house is built on half ground and another half left for garden. In my child wood my father planted many plants and trees. Actually he was very much interested in having a garden, we will feed water to the plants from our well, in those days we don't have motor pump to pump water. After some time we all left to our village. In 2004 I got married to Annapurani, from then she took the responsibility from my father to maintain the garden. She would clean the garden every week, she alone will feed the garden. she and my father planted all the plants are now. It is very beautiful to see in the morning all these flowers. we have two coconut tree which is also maintained by her.
